Los Fresnos 47, SA Southwest 35

Trailing 14-5 after the opening quarter, Los Fresnos exploded for 35 unanswered points before halftime en route to a 47-35 victory over SA Southwest on Saturday. Charles Chapa accounted for five touchdowns for the Falcons, four of them coming in the second quarter. Nicholas Valencia caught nine passes for 115 yards and two scores for the Falcons. Cade Stott rushed for 93 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Southwest offense, while Sean Ruiz added 81 yards on the ground for the Dragons in a losing effort.


Lake Travis 47, Converse Judson 39

Lake Travis ripped off 21 straight points in the second half and avenged a season-opening loss to Converse Judson with a 47-39 victory to advance in the playoffs. Matthew Baldwin completed 23 of 33 passes for 295 yards and four touchdowns to lead the offense for the Cavaliers, while Garrett Wilson snagged seven passes for 129 yards and three scores. Sophomore Hudson Card added 112 receiving yards and a 55-yard touchdown reception to open the scoring. Julon Williams accounted for 341 yards and four scores for the Rockets, while junior Sincere McCormick added 165 yards and a touchdown.

Richmond Foster 28, Dripping Springs 21

For the second straight year, Richmond Foster ended an amazing run by Dripping Springs, this time with a 28-21 victory on Saturday in Bryan. With Foster rolling into the fourth quarter with a 28-7 lead, Trevor Greenman drove Dripping Springs to the 29-yard line and nearly pulled off an improbable comeback. Greenman threw for over 400 yards and added 151 on the ground in a losing effort, while Curtis Raymond caught eight passes for 212 yards for the Tigers.
