I started my season at the Bryan Allen Academy Kickoff Classic (six six-man games over three days).

At an event like this with a very small press box, I was sitting in the stands, so I am going to start this off with some things I heard from parents in the stands before getting to the scoring summary. I’m not going to identify the school or the game. These happened over the course of 6 games in 3 days.
“That’s a false start or something.”
“If they play on a smaller field, why do they have to get more (yards) for a 1st down?”
“(Loudly). Way to be there. Way to be there. (under breath) Almost.”
“Good Job. Good Job.” (tackle was 30 yards down field)
“Put a helmet on him. Stop arm tackling.” (Leading with the helmet is a penalty)
There was one dad that was sitting in his stadium seat constant on his phone. He seemed to have a timer set as every 10 minutes or so he would look up and yell “Go (mascot name)!” He’d then go straight back to his phone. The cheers weren’t related to anything happening on the field and weren’t timed with other parents.
