The Judson Rockets dismissed any talks of an offensive rebuild on Saturday night after besting Clear Springs 46-28.
While Clear Springs kept the game close early, matching Judson’s 14 first-quarter points, the Rockets had four unanswered scores in the second quarter to give them some breathing room. It would be too much for Clear Springs to answer, as Judson rolled to a 1-0 start on the new season.
With Julon Williams now in Houston with the Cougars, the Rockets were led by quarterback Mike Chandler, who passed for 179 yards and three touchdowns.
Standout running back Sincere McCormick rushed for 63 yards and a touchdown, while Rashad Wisdom added 64 on the ground.
Judson will look for their second win on Saturday night in a rivalry game against Wagner.
