The San Marcos Rattlers opened their 2018 campaign at home against the Hays Rebels at San Marcos Toyota Rattler Stadium.

After trailing early 14-3, the Rattlers fought back but came up just short in their home opener 24-17.

With senior running back Jamon Johnson out, the Rattlers looked to Takai Madgett on offense.


Madgett delivered with 97 rushing yards for one touchdown. Wide receiver Mhyson Williams also contributed with four receptions for 61 yards and a touchdown.

The Rattlers will look to bounce back tomorrow night back at home against San Antonio Johnson, who also enter the game 0-1.
