Last Friday, the San Marcos Rattlers played host to the Johnson Jaguars, a new team on their schedule this season.

Johnson got off to a blistering start, scoring 31 unanswered points in the first quarter as running back Justin Rodriguez was dominant in the ground game.

The Rattlers, as has been their calling card in the past, battled back and kept pace with the Jaguars in the second and third quarter.

14 unanswered points, including a 54-yard touchdown pass from Alex Garcia to Mhyson Williams narrowed the gap a bit more, but the 31-point deficit in the first quarter was too much to overcome as San Marcos dropped to 0-2 on the season.

Tonight they travel to Laredo to take on the 1-1 United Longhorns. Look for a recap and photos this weekend.
