Linebackers Lead the Way in College Station’s 42-19 Win Over UANL

With several running backs out due to injuries, linebackers ruled the day for College Station.

First up was Garrett Draper who intercepted a pass and returned it 30 yards for a touchdown on the second play from scrimmage. Then on the third play of the ensuing drive, Traveno Thompson returned an interception to the UNAL 12-yard line. Three plays later, converted linebacker Bubba Carter (in at running back due to the injuries) recorded a 1-yard touchdown run to put the Cougars up 14-0 with 9:09 remaining in the 1st quarter.

UANL then went on an 11-play 80-yard drive consuming 4:55 of the clock to cut the lead to 14-7, capped by a 26-yard touchdown pass from Sergio Resendiz to Miguel Rosales.


Following a College Station punt, Zach Sacky intercepted a Sergio Resendiz pass at their own 14. College Station scored quickly on a 4-play 86-yard drive capped when Terry Green broke a screen pass 58 yards for a touchdown.

Ryan Stapp returned the open kickoff of the second half 95 yards to make the score 28-7 College Station.

Moises Garza added a pair of touchdown passes to Miguel Rosales for UANL.

Bubba Carter added a 4-yard touchdown run for College Station and the scoring was capped by a 41-yard pass from Blake Bayliss to Brandon Jospeh.

College Station moves to 3-0 on the season. College Station open 8-5AD1 district play Friday, 9/28 when they host Conroe Caney Creek.

Caney Creek (2-1) was off this week. In Week 3 they lost to Vidor 7-34.
