The Seven Lakes Spartans appeared to have a chance early in the game. The Spartans chose to kick to Tigers to start the game after winning the coin toss. The Spartans held the Tigers to a 3 and out and the ensuing punt traveled only 1 yard putting Seven Lakes in business at the Katy 35-yard line. The Spartans faced a 4th and 3 and came up 1 yard short, turning the ball over on downs to the Tigers at the 26-yard line.
The Katy Tigers then drove 74 yards in 8 plays punctuated by a 1-yard touchdown run from Deondrick Glass with 5:28 remaining in the 1st quarter. With the successful point after, The Tigers led 7-0.
The score would be the first of three Katy scores in a span of less than a minute in a half. Kaleb Cue would add a 28-yard field goal, McClelland would hit Patrick again for a touchdown and Glass score on another short touchdown run, and Katy led 33-0 with 5:36 remaining in the 2nd quarter.
The Spartans would get on the board when John Harrington (in the injured Michael Batton) hit Jaden Embra for a 3-yard touchdown pass. With the failed point after, the Tigers lead was cut to 33-6 with 17 seconds remaining in the 1st half.
Jiannia Angulo added a 43-yad punt return for a touchdown, Deondrick Glass added a 36-yard touchdown run, and Sherman Smith added 2 touchdown runs (20-yards and 75-yards) and Seven Lakes added a 73-yard touchdown run from Milton Jones to make the final score Katy 61, Seven Lakes 13.
