Staying strictly local this week and going to a couple of key games with big playoff implications this week.

All rankings are THSCA regional rankings.

Game 1: Tomball Memorial Wildcats (6-1, 4-1) 6A Region 2 #11 at Cy Park Tigers (0-7, 0-5)

Thursday, 10/25, 7:00PM, Pridgeon Stadium, Cypress

This will be the first meeting between the two schools.

2nd year head coach Sam Parker has the Wildcats on the verge of making school history. The Wildcats record for wins in a season was six in 2013 (the school’s second year) when they went 6-4 in the regular season and lost in the first round of the playoffs. A win in any of their remaining three games and the Wildcats will set the school record for a single season. If the Wildcats win their remaining three games (including Week 11 versus Cy Ranch), they will win at least a share of the 14-6A district title. The Wildcats are scoring 40 points per game while averaging surrendering 25 points per game.

Head Coach Greg Rogers and the Panthers are playing their first varsity season and are still seeking the first win in school history.  So far, the closest the Panthers have come is a seven-point loss to Cy Springs in Week 5. The rest of the team’s losses have been by 22 points over more. The Panthers are averaging scoring 10 points per game while averaging surrendering 46 points per game.

Simply put I am a fan of Texas high school football. I attend as many high school football games as I can - 82 games in 2017, 86 games in 2018, 76 games in 2019. I also have some limited computer skills and I use those to provide information to the #txhsfb community. I am always looking for new ways to provide information to the #txhsfb community.
