District 27-6A
SA Johnson 12, SA Roosevelt 9
Junior Justin Rodriguez rushed for 244 yards and the game-deciding touchdown as Johnson survived with a 12-9 victory over Roosevelt on Thursday Night Lights. With 4:03 left to play, Rodriguez had scored on a 37-yard touchdown run at Johnson moved to 6-2 and 4-1 on the season. Roosevelt is every bit as worthy as Churchill for the final playoff spot in District 27-6A after losing its last two games to Reagan and Johnson by a total of six points.
District 28-6A
SA Holmes 37, SA Marshall 33
On Thursday night, DQ Haney rushed for 218 yards and four touchdowns as Holmes picked up its first win of the season with a 37-33 victory over Marshall. The Huskies rushed for 402 yards in the victory. Bernard Dankyi rushed for 115 yards and three touchdowns to lead Marshall.
District 13-5A Division I
SA Wagner 67, SA Burbank 0
Wagner has extended its score differential to 465-22 with a 67-0 victory over Burbank on Thursday night in District 13-5A-I action. The Thunderbirds exploded to a 33-0 lead after the first quarter thanks to two touchdown runs from sophomore L.J. Butler and a 72-yard touchdown run from quarterback Tobias Weaver. DeMarcus Hendricks added to the scoring burst with his fourth interception return for a touchdown this season.
SA Highlands 13, SA Lanier 0
Dre’Chan Moody hooked up with Gabriel Saenz on a 43-yard touchdown pass just 43 seconds before halftime to give Highlands all it would need in a 13-0 victory over Lanier. Moody finished with six catches for 102 yards to lead the Owls offense. Lanier’s defense performed well, holding Highlands to less than 100 rushing yards in a losing effort.
District 14-5A Division I
SA Southwest 42, SA Harlandale 7
Rosendo Olague rushed for 161 yards and two touchdowns as Southwest won its sixth straight game with a 42-7 victory over Harlandale. Damian Lopez added a touchdown pass and run to boost the Southwest offense. Southwest held the Harlandale offense to 136 on the evening and got a 93-yard interception return for a touchdown from senior Cade Stott.
Division 14-5A Division II
Medina Valley 49, SA Memorial 0
James Gipson rushed for a pair of touchdowns as Medina Valley moved to 7-1 on the season with a 49-0 win over Memorial. Gipson rushed for a game-high 107 yards, while Diego Morales also rushed for two touchdowns to boost the Medina Valley offense. The Panthers held Memorial to 86 yards of offense.
