26-Year-Old Nebraska Man Impersonates High School Student
Zachary Scheich, a Nebraska suspect was apprehended by the Lincoln Police Department for assuming the identity of a 17-year-old high school student in Nebraska.
According to Fox News, investigators discovered that the Nebraska suspect had engaged in illegal sexual encounters with minors while under the false identity of Zak Hess.
Using the alias Zak Hess, Nebraska suspect Scheich successfully enrolled at two different high schools and blended in with the teenage population. The alleged crimes he committed during his time in the schools have led to multiple felony charges.
The Lincoln Police Department’s investigation began on June 1, 2023, when officials at Lincoln Public Schools discovered a student named Zak Hess, who claimed to be 17 years old, was attending Northwest High School.
As the second semester began, the Nebraska suspect who used the name Hess transferred to Southeast High School, all the while posing as a junior during the 2022-2023 school year.
Unknown to the school authorities, the Nebraska suspect had already graduated from Lincoln Public Schools back in 2015, making him significantly older than his teenage persona.
Standing at a height of 5’4″ and weighing 120 pounds, Nebraska suspect Scheich managed to convincingly blend in with the other students, raising no suspicions until his true identity was revealed.
Nebraska Man Arrested, Faces Charges
After a thorough investigation, law enforcement uncovered Nebraska suspect Scheich’s actual age and identity, leading to his arrest.
The charges brought against the Nebraska suspect were shocking and grave: two counts of sexual assault through the use of an electronic device and one count of sex trafficking of a minor, all of which are considered felony offenses.
During his time at both schools, the Nebraska suspect attended approximately 54 days of classes, concealing his true age and intentions.
Investigators further discovered that the Nebraska suspect had engaged in illegal sexual encounters with minors while under the false identity of Zak Hess.
The Lincoln Police Department considered the evidence gathered to be sufficient for an arrest warrant.
