The John Cooper School Football Report: Week 1


The Varsity Football team starts the 2019 season strong with a 42-0 victory over Frassati Catholic School.

The Dragons’ offense had close to 400 yards on the night and the defense held Frassati to -7 rushing yards and 33 total yards.

Coach Erik DeHaven: “I am proud of our team’s effort and determination. We must be more disciplined in the penalty department. But overall it was a step in the right direction.”

Players of the Week:

Offense: Kaedyn Sullivan • 12/16 75% • 291 yards • 4 TD’s

Defense: Gamble Reed • 6 tackles / 2 sacks / 3.5 for a loss

MVP: Ben DeLoit • 3 Rec • 118 yards • 9 rushes for 110 yards

Special Teams: Cameron Reed • 2 tackles on Kick off Team

Scout Team Offense: Owen Baadsgaard

Scout Team Defense: Connor Dove
