John Cooper tops Legacy Prep 53-8 on Homecoming

Six different players scored John Coopers’ eight touchdowns on the nights as the Dragons raced to a 53-8 victory over Legacy Prep for homecoming.

Cameron Reed got the scoring started for the Dragons on a 1-yard touchdown run early in the 1st quarter. Ben Deloit and Kaedyn Sullivan add short touchdown runs to push the score to 21-0 before the end of the 1st. Sullivan connected with Will Young on a 7-yard touchdown pass early in the 2nd quarter, before Deloit became the first repeat scorer on a 25-yard touchdown run.

Tyler Prazak completed an 11-yard pass to Sam Bargainer as time expired in the first half for the Lions only score of th egame. The 2-point conversion attempt was good and the halftime score was John Cooper 33, Legacy Prep 8.


After a fumble recovery of the second half kickoff, John Cooper score on the next play on a 10-yard pass from Sullivan to Thomas Elkhoury. A few minutes later Cameron Reed became the second repeat scorer of the night with a 21-yard touchdown run.

At the 6:26 mark of the 3rd period Cooper’s Jake Peterson fell on a fumble in the end zone for the final score of the night.

For John Cooper, Sullivan was 14 of 20 for 189 yards and 2 touchdowns passing. Peterson lead all rushers with 206 yards rushing on only 4 attempts. Elkhoury was Cooper’s leading receiver with 9 receptions for 155 yards and 1 touchdown.

For Legacy Prep, Prazak was 8 of 14 for 38 yards with 1 touchdown passing. Prazak was also the leading rusher with 47 yards on 14 carries. Bargainer was the leading receiver with 2 receptions for 15 yards and 1 touchdown.

John Cooper moves to 2-0 on the season. The Dragons go on the road to play Bay Area Christian next Friday night. Bay Area Christian is 1-1 following their victory over Danbury tonight.

Legacy Prep falls to 0-2 on the season. The Lions go on the road to play The Woodlands Christian Academy next Friday night. WCA is 2-0 following their 39-0 victory tonight over Scherz St. Paul II.
