Cy Woods Moves to 2-0 in 14-6A with Victory Over Langham Creek


In a game played at 11 A.M. this morning after being moved from Thursday due to the effects of Tropical Storm Imelda, Cy Woods defeated Langham Creek 31-14 to remain unbeaten in 14-6A play. Entering the games to be played this evening, only 4 teams in 14-6A remain unbeaten. Two of those teams (Bridgeland & Cy Ranch) play each other tonight.

The game remained scoreless until late in the first quarter when Jackson Jones connected with Konner Sabrsula for a 14-yard touchdown pass to give the Wildcats the lead 7-0.

The Wildcats would extend the lead to 14-0 when Jones threw a 21-yard pass to Cam Sewell with 5;41 left before halftime. And 14-0 would the score at the half.

Langham Creek cut the lead to 14-7 on a 33-yard touchdown run from 4:51 remaining in the 3rd to give the Lobos brief hope.
The Wildcats would answer back on a 19-yard touchdown run from Rudy Mejia to extend the lead back to 14 at 21-7 with 1:32 remaining in the 3rd.

Jeshurun Williams would salt the game away with a 2-yard TD run pushing the Wildcats lead to 28-7 with 9:10 left in the game.
The Wildcats add a 42-yard Michael Fernandez field goal to make the score 31-7 with 2:47 left in the game.

Langham Creek would finish the scoring for the day with a 10-yard bulldozer touchdown run from Jordan Shields with 1:35 left in the game to produce the final score of 31-14.

Cy Woods moves to 2-2 on the season and 2-0 in district play. The Wildcats play Bridgeland next Friday. Bridgeland is 3-0, 1-0. Bridgeland plays later tonight.

Langham Creek falls to 0-4, 0-2. The Lobos travel to Bryan next Friday. Bryan is 1-2, 0-2 after their 0-40 loss to Tomball Memorial last night.
