Thursday, 9/26, 7pm, at Montgomery ISD Stadium
Lamar Consolidated Mustangs (3-0,0-0) vs Lake Creek Lions (2-1,0-0)

This will be the second meeting between the two schools. Lamar Consolidated won last year’s meeting 65-21.

Lamar Consolidated has opened the season with wins over Fort Bend Clements, Brazoswood, and Terry.


Lake Creek has recorded victories over Caney Creek and Fulshear around a loss to Willis.

Dave Campbell’s Texas Football has Lamar Consolidated ranked as the number 10 team in 5AD2 state-wide. The Houston Chronicle has the Mustangs ranked #7 among Houston area 5A schools.

Friday, 9/27, 7:30pm, at Gonzales’ Apache Field
Hondo Owls (1-3) vs. Gonzales Apaches (3-1)

This will be the fourth meeting between the two schools. Hondo won their meeting in the 1999 playoffs. Gonzales won their meeting in the 2011 playoffs. Gonzales won last year’s meeting 24-14.

After a season opening loss to Navarro, Gonzales recorded victories over Austin Crockett, Yoakum, and Cuero. This is only the third time in Gonzales’ history they have been both Yoakum and Cuero in the same season.

Massey Ratings favors Gonzales by 28.

This will be my first time seeing both teams and my first game in Apache Field.

Saturday, 9/28, 6pm, Katy ISD’s Legacy Stadium
Cinco Ranch Cougars (0-4,0-0) vs. Mayde Creek Rams (4-0,0-0)

These two teams have played 19 times. Cinco Ranch leads the all-time series 14-5. Mayde Creek won five of the first six meetings. Cinco Ranch has won the last 13 consecutive meetings including a 44-28 win last year.

Cinco Ranch has opened the season with losses to Cy Ranch, Jersey Village, Pearland, and Cedar Park.

Mayde Creek has opened the season with wins over Conroe, Fort Bend Austin, Aldine Nimitz, and Alvin.

Massey Ratings favors Mayde Creek by 7.
