Ten games in each classification I’ll be keeping an eye on in Week 10.
Okay. Scratch that Ten thing. With the season winding down and only two weeks left in the regular season, there’s a lot of games that will have playoff implications. I’m expanding to cover games that stand out to me as having district implications.
So, you are getting 20 games in 6A, 25 games in 5A, 20 games in 4A, 23 games in 3A, 25 games in 2A, 18 games in 1A, only 7 games in Non-UIL 11-man, and 12 Non-UIL 6-man.


6A
1) El Paso Franklin (6-2, 1-2) vs. El Paso Pebble Hills (4-4, 1-2)
These are two of three teams (with El Paso Coronado) tied for 3rd place in 1-6A. The winner takes a major step toward a playoff spot.

2) Permian (5-2, 3-0) vs. Frenship (6-2, 2-1)
Permian is looking toward a Week 11 showdown with Midland Lee, but first they’ll need to get past Frenship.


3) Arlington Bowie (7-1, 5-0) vs. Arlington Lamar (7-1, 4-1)
Bowie is looking toward a Week 11 showdown with Arlington Martin, but first they’ll need to get past Lamar.

4) Lewisville (7-1, 4-1) vs. Hebron (6-2, 4-1)
These two teams are tied for second in 6-6A. The winner takes a major step toward locking down the #2 spot.

5) Allen (8-0, 5-0) vs. Prosper (7-1, 4-1)
With a win Allen wraps up the 9-6A district title. Prosper hopes to upset the Eagles and claim a share of the crown.

6) Garland Rowlett (4-4, 4-1) vs. Lakeview Centennial (5-3, 3-2)
Rowlett is one of three teams tied atop 10-6A (with Sachse and Wylie). Lakeview Centennial currently sits in 4th place.

7) Rockwall (7-2, 4-1) vs. Mesquite (7-1, 3-1)
The teams with one district loss (Longview is undefeated) square off with the winner taking a big step toward claiming the #2 spot in 11-6A.

8) Temple (7-1, 6-0) vs. Waco Midway (5-3, 5-1)
Temple looks to clinch the 12-6A district crown with a win. Midway would move into a tie with Temple (with one week to play) with a win.

9) Bridgeland (6-2, 4-2) vs. Cy Lakes (5-4, 4-3)
Bridgeland would clinch the 4th playoff spot in 14-6A with a win. Cy Lakes would not clinch but would have the inside track on the 4th spot with a win.

10) Cy Creek (5-3, 5-1) vs. Houston Memorial (5-3, 4-2)
Cy Creek would clinch a playoff berth with a win. Houston Memorial may not clinch a playoff berth with a win, but they would take a big step in that direction.

11) Houston Bellaire (5-3, 4-1) vs. Houston Heights (3-5, 3-1)
The winner of this game will finish 2nd in 18-6A.

12) Channelview (4-4, 2-3) vs. La Porte (3-5, 2-3)
Two of the four, yes, four, teams tied for 4th place in 21-6A square off.

13) Humble (7-1, 5-1) vs. Kingwood (5-4, 5-2)
Both teams have clinched a playoff berth. This game will help determined seeding in 22-6A.

14) Strake Jesuit (6-2, 4-1) vs. George Ranch (4-4, 4-1)
The winner of this game pretty much warps up the second spot (behind Pearland Dawson) in 23-6A.

15) Lake Travis (7-1, 6-0) vs. Buda Hays (7-1, 5-1)
Westlake (7-1, 5-1) vs. Austin Anderson (6-2, 4-2)
A 25-6A twofer. The top 4 teams in 25-6A square off.

16) San Antonio Johnson (5-3, 4-1) vs. San Antonio Churchill (4-4, 3-2)
Johnson is currently tied for 2nd (with Roosevelt) in 27-6A. Churchill currently sits in the 4th spot.

17) San Antonio Brennan (7-1, 6-1) vs. San Antonio O’Connor (6-2, 6-1)
The two teams tied for 2nd (behind Brandeis) in 28-6A square off.

18) Laredo United (7-1, 4-0) vs. Laredo United South (5-3, 4-0)
The last two teams undefeated in 29-6A play square off.

19) Mission (7-1, 5-0) vs. PSJA (5-3, 4-1)
1st place in in 30-6A squares off with one of the two teams (McAllen Memorial is the other) tied for 2nd place.

20) Weslaco (7-1, 4-0) vs. Weslaco East (5-3, 4-0)
The last two teams undefeated in 31-6A play square off.

1) El Paso Eastlake (4-4, 3-0) vs. El Paso Del Valle (4-4, 2-1)
Eastlake currently sits in 1st place in 1-5AD1. Del Valle is currently tied (with Eastwood) for 2nd.

2) Denton Ryan (8-0, 5-0) vs. Grapevine (5-3, 3-2)
Birdville (6-2, 5-0) vs. Colleyville Heritage (5-3, 4-1)
A 4-5AD1 twofer as the top 4 teams square off.

3) The Colony (7-1, 4-1) vs. Frisco Independence (6-2, 3-2)
The Colony is currently 2nd in 5-5AD1. Independence is currently 3rd.

4) Highland Park (7-1, 5-0) vs. Lancaster (7-1, 5-0)
The last two teams undefeated in 6A-5AD1 play square off.

5) Mesquite Poteet (4-4, 3-1) vs. John Tyler (3-5, 3-1)
The two teams tied for 2nd (behind McKinney North) in 7-5AD1 square off.

6) Magnolia West (5-3, 4-1) vs. Magnolia (5-3, 3-2)
These cross-town rivals square off with a good deal at stake. Magnolia West currently sits 3rd in 8-5AD1. Magnolia currently sits 4th.

7) Shadow Creek (8-0, 5-0) vs. Hightower (7-1, 4-1)
Shadow Creek currently sits undefeated in 1st place in 10-5AD1. Hightower is currently one of two teams (Friendswood is the other) tied for 2nd place.

8) Hutto (6-1, 3-1) vs. Manor (5-3, 3-1)
Georgetown (5-3, 2-2) vs. Leander Rouse (1-7, 1-3)
A 11-5AD1 twofer.
Hutto and Manor are currently tied for 2nd (behind Cedar Park) as they square off.
Georgetown/ Leaner Rouse will likely determine 4th place in 11-5AD1 with Georgetown currently in 4th place and Leander Rouse currently in 5th place.

9) San Antonio Wagner (8-1, 7-0) vs. San Antonio Veterans Memorial (7-1, 6-0)
The last two undefeated in 13-5AD1 play square off.

10) San Antonio Harlan (8-0, 4-0) vs. San Antonio Southwest (4-4, 3-1)
Laredo Martin (5-3, 3-1) vs. San Antonio Harlandale (4-3, 2-2)
A 14-5AD1 twofer as the top 4 teams square off.

11) Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial (6-2, 4-2) vs. Victoria West (4-4, 4-2)
Two of the three teams (Flout Bluff is the other) tied for s2nd at 4-2 in district play square off.

12) Mission Memorial (7-1, 7-) vs. La Joya Palmview (6-2, 6-1)

A 16-5AD1 twofer as four of the top five teams square off. The Veterans Memorial/ Pace game could determine the 4th playoff spot.

Two of three teams tied for 3rd in 1-5AD2 (El Paso Riverside is the other) square off.

14) El Paso Andress (6-2, 3-1) vs. El Paso Bowie (4-3, 2-2)
Andress is currently 3rd and Bowie is currently 4th in 2-5AD2.

15) Wichita Falls Rider (4-4, 2-1) vs. Canyon Randall (3-5, 2-1)
The two teams tied for second in 3-5AD2 behind Lubbock Cooper face off.

16) Fort Worth Southwest (2-6, 2-2) vs. Fort Worth Wyatt (2-6, 2-2)
The two teams currently tied for 4th place in 4-5AD2 face off.

17) Midlothian (6-2, 4-2) vs. Cleburne (5-3, 3-3)
Midlothian is currently 3rd in 5-5AD1 while Cleburne is currently 4th.

South Oak Cliff is currently tied for 2nd (with Seagoville) in 6-5AD2. Kimball is currently 4th.

These are not only the top two teams in 5-4AD1. They are also both ranked in the top 10 in 4AD1 by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football with La Vega being #3 and Brownwood being #6.

3) Alvarado (6-2, 4-0) vs. Wilmer Hutchins (5-3, 3-1)
Alvarado is currently alone in 1st place in 8-4AD1. Wilmer Hutchins is currently tied for 2nd with Carrollton Ranchview.

4) Midlothian Heritage (5-3, 3-0) vs. Waxahachie Life (6-2, 2-1)
Mabank (6-2, 1-2) vs. Athens (5-2, 1-2)
A 9-4AD1 twofer. Heritage is currently 1st place. Waxahachie Life is currently tied for 2nd with Crandall. Mabank and Athens are currently tied for 4th and the loser will likely miss the playoffs.

The loser is this game will likely miss the playoffs. The winner may not clinch but keeps their playoff hopes alive.

Ira would take a big step toward the district title with a win. Aspermont would take a big step toward a playoff spot.

5) Klondike (6-2, 1-1) vs. Grady (3-5, 1-1)
The winner keeps their playoff hopes alive. The loser will likely miss the playoffs.

6) Balmorhea (8-0, 1-0) vs. Fort Davis (5-3, 0-1)
Rankin (7-1, 0-1) vs. Marfa (2-6, 0-1)
If heavily favored Balmorhea and Rankin both win, they both clinch playoff spots and set up a district title showdown next week.

7) Garden City (6-2, 2-0) vs. Roscoe Highland (5-3, 1-1)
A Garden City win clinches the playoffs for the Bearkats and sets up a showdown with Sterling City next week for the district title. A Highland win would keep their playoff hopes alive.

12-1AD1 schedules differently with all teams off in Week 11 so this the final week of district play. The winner of this game finishes 2nd and makes the playoffs. The loser misses the playoffs.

Veribest clinches the district 13-1AD1 title with a win.

10) May (7-1, 1-0) vs. Gorman (6-2, 1-0)
The winner of the game clinches the 14-1AD1 title.

The winner of the game clinches the 15-1AD1 title.

The winner of this game will either clinch Division 2 District 3 or have the inside track on the title at the least.
