Tony’s 2020 5AD1 Mock Alignment (Revised)

Here’s a mock alignment for 5AD1 based on the latest information released by the UIL for the upcoming 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 school years.

A few quick thoughts on my mock alignments:

  • This is not a prediction of how the UIL will align the districts. This is one way the districts could be aligned that meets all the rules for district alignments.
  • It would appear the UIL may allow El Paso Chapin to opt up to 5AD1 alleviating the issue with having only three 5AD1 El Paso area schools.
  • This creates the more traditional kind of issue: What to do with Abilene Cooper? Group them with western DFW or group them with Lubbock/ Amarillo?
  • There are probably dozens of different ways to do any alignment and the one thing that is true about everyone of them – some will love the alignment and some will hate it.

You can use the Google map embedded below to zoom in, pan, etc. to see the alignments on a map. Below the map are the districts listed in textual form.

Simply put I am a fan of Texas high school football. I attend as many high school football games as I can - 82 games in 2017, 86 games in 2018, 76 games in 2019. I also have some limited computer skills and I use those to provide information to the #txhsfb community. I am always looking for new ways to provide information to the #txhsfb community. If you have ideas and suggestions, tag or DM me on Twitter.
