Iowa Park Hawks vs. Pleasant Grove Hawks

Pleasant Grove 49, Iowa Park 14

The Pleasant Grove Hawks scored the first 35 points of their State Semifinal game against the Iowa Park Hawks and rolled to victory to advance to the State Finals.

Pleasant Grove scored first on a 2-yard pass from Ben Harmon to Brett Walker with 7:06 remaining in the 1st quarter to take a 7-0 lead.

Pleasant Grove scored again with 0:17 remaining in the first quarter on a 44-yard Harmon pass to Jackson Cobb to push the lead to 14-0.

Pleasant Grove scored next when Dylan Hopkins returned a blocked punt 14 yards for a touchdown to extended the lead to 21-0 with 4:29 remaining in the 2nd quarter.

Cobb caught another touchdown pass from Harmon, this time from 49-yards, to make the Pleasant Grove lead 28-0 with 1:19 left in the first half.

Ryan Pickelman scored the final touchdown of the half for Pleasant Grove on a 38-yard run with 0:32 remaining in the half to give Pleasant Grove a 35-0 lead.

Iowa Park would get on the board early in the 3rd quarter on a 14-yard touchdown run from Brendin Fallon with 8:49 remaining in the 3rd quarter to cut the Pleasant Grove lead to 35-7.

Nick Martin scored for Pleasant Grove on a 16-yard run with 0:52 remaining in the 3rd quarter to push the Pleasant Grove lead back to 35 at 42-7.

Will Cullipher would score for Pleasant Grove on an 8-yard run with 4:43 remaining in the game to make the score Pleasant Grove 49, Iowa Park 14.

Fallon would score again for Iowa Park, this time on a 2-yard run, with 2:23 left in the game to make the final score Pleasant Grove 49, Iowa Park 14.

The statistical leaders for Pleasant Grove were Bruce Garrett with 106 yards rushing on 16 carries, Ben Harmon with 150 yards passing completing 6 passes on 8 attempts, and Jackson Cobb with 110 yards receiving on 3 catches.

The statistical leaders for Iowa Park were Brendin Fallon with 69 yards rushing on 13 carries, Trent Green with 117 yards passing completing 12 of 21 passes, and Kaden Ashlock with 79 yards receiving on 6 catches.

 

 

 

 

 

Silsbee Tigers vs. Cuero Gobblers

Cuero 29, Silsbee 24

The Cuero Gobblers survived a late rally form the Silsbee Tigers to advance to the State Finals.

After a scoreless first quarter, Silsbee got on the board first on a 3-yard touchdown run from Chris Martin. The PAT blocked and Silsbee lead 6-0 with 10:41 remaining in the 2nd quarter.

Cuero took the lead 7-6 on the next play from scrimmage on a 70-yard touchdown pass from Jordan Whittington with 9:42 remaining in the 2nd quarter.

And that would be the score at the half.

Cuero extended their lead to 14-6 on a 13-yard run from Chance Albrecht with 10:11 remaining in the 3rd quarter.

Cuero would push the lead to 21-6 on a 36-yard run from Keiran Grant with 7:17 remaining in the 3rd quarter.

Silsbee answered right back on a 74-yard pass from Raymond Foster to Martin with 7:02 remaining in the 3rd quarter. Jordan Whittington intercepted the two-point attempt in the end zone and returned it the length of the field for two points for the Gobblers. After the sequence of plays, the score was Cuero 23, Silsbee 12.

Silsbee would score again with 2:34 remaining in the 3rd quarter on a 18-yard pass from Foster to Jalen Davis to cut the Cuero lead to 23-18. The attempted two-point conversion failed.

Silsbee would take the lead with 8:45 remaining in the game when Jiren Rawls returned a fumble 60 yards for a touchdown. The two-point conversion once again failed and Silsbee lead 24-23.

Cuero would regain the lead with 6:03 remaining in the game on 6-yard touchdown run from Jordan Whittington. This would be the last score of the game and The Gobblers would win 29-24.
