The Argyle Eagles drove 74 yards in 9 plays to score a touchdown on the opening drive of the 4AD1 state championship game. Tito Byce rushed in from 1 yard out to put Argyle on top 7-0 with 9:51 remaining in the first quarter and the Eagles never looked back from there ultimately winning the game by a score of 49-21.
Tito Byce would score 4 rushing touchdowns for Argyle in the first half (1 yard, 4 yards, 2 yards, and 2 yards) to spot the Eagles to a 28-0 halftime lead.
The teams would trade touchdowns in the 3rd quarter ( a Sam Peterson 6 yard run and a 38 yard pass from Jaob Seekford to Peterson for Lindale, and two CJ Rogers passes, the first a 2 yard pass to Jasper Lott, the second a 43-yard pass to Ward McCollum) and Argyle lead 42-14 after 3 quarters.
Rogers again connected with Jasper Lott in the 4th quarter (this time 4-yard pass) and Jordan Jenkins added a 25-yard TD run for Lindale to produce the final score of 49-21.
Tito Byce was named the game’s Offensive MVP with 152 yards rushing and 4 TDs.
Zach Stewart was named the game’s Defensive MVP with 6.5 tackles and 1 pass break up.
While field level access was limited, Antony Blalock did manage to capture these pictures from the stands.
