Highland Park had ended Denton Ryan’s playoff runs in 2016, 2017, and 2018. On a cold rainy afternoon at Globe Life Park in Arlington, the Raiders exorcised their Scot Demons and advance to the state semifinals.

Ryan jumped out to a 14-0 lead remaining in the first quarter. Highland Park cut the lead to 14-7 with 0:20 left in the quarter.

From the there the defenses dominated with the only additional score being a Denton Ryan field goal as the third quarter ended.

Denton Ryan won 17-7 and advances to the state semifinals next week against Mansfield Summit.

Simply put I am a fan of Texas high school football. I attend as many high school football games as I can - 82 games in 2017, 86 games in 2018, 76 games in 2019. I also have some limited computer skills and I use those to provide information to the #txhsfb community. I am always looking for new ways to provide information to the #txhsfb community. If you have ideas and suggestions, tag or DM me on Twitter.
