Abilene Wylie (10-2) vs. Levelland (7-4), 7:30 p.m. Friday, Midland’s Grande Stadium
REGION II

Texarkana Liberty-Eylau (11-1) vs. Kaufman (11-1), 7:30 p.m. Friday, Royse City
REGION III
El Campo (9-3) vs. Silsbee (10-2), 7 p.m. Friday, Conroe’s Moorhead Stadium
El Campo may have the better rushing attack of these two teams, but Silsbee is more talented overall. The cousin combination of Dontre and Adonis Thomas lead the way for Silsbee’s offense, with help from Under Armour All-American Patrick Hudson anchoring the offensive line. It will be up to El Campo’s defense to prevent this from becoming a battle of quarterbacks which would heavily favor Silsbee. – John Diaz
Navasota (12-0) vs. Carthage (9-3), 6 p.m. Friday, Beaumont’s Umphrey Stadium
Navasota WR Tren’Davian Dickson will look to build on his record-setting career this week against an aggressive Carthage Bulldog team. – Nick Harris
REGION IV
Waco La Vega (12-0) vs. Liberty Hill (10-2), 7:30 p.m. Friday, Killeen’s Buckley Stadium
The Pirates have scored over 40 points in their first two playoff games. La Vega combines speed on offense with hard hitting on defense. Thinking about a return engagement next week against China Spring might be the biggest problem the Pirates face with Liberty Hill. – John Hillman
Gatesville (6-6) vs. China Spring (11-1), 7:30 p.m. Friday, Hewitt
The Hornets lost to China Springs 42-17 in the regular season finale but rolled to two easy wins in the playoffs. Experience might give Gatesville a bit more advantage, but the Cougars want another shot at La Vega in the regional finals. – John Hillman
CLASS 4A DIVISION II
REGION I
Krum (7-5) vs. Sweetwater (12-0), 2 p.m. Friday, Brownwood
Celina (12-0) vs. Perryton (7-5), 7 p.m. Friday, Vernon
REGION II
Gilmer (12-0) vs. Center (10-2), 7:30 p.m. Friday, Tyler’s Rose Stadium
Lorena (9-3) vs. Atlanta (8-4), 7 p.m. Friday, Mesquite’s Memorial Stadium
The Leopards found unconventional ways to win throughout district play and the playoffs. That mojo might take Lorena into the regional title match. – John Hillman
REGION III
West Orange-Stark (11-1) vs. Caldwell (8-4), 7 p.m. Friday, Porter
Caldwell’s late comeback against La Marque gives them a date against powerhouse West Orange-Stark. On paper, both teams have evenly matched, balanced offenses. But West Orange-Stark’s Chain Gang defense continues to flex their dominance in these playoffs. Wharton did end the Mustangs shutout streak, but most of their yards and points came in the second half after West Orange-Stark was already up 40-2. – John Diaz
Giddings (12-0) vs. Bellville (10-2), 7:30 p.m. Friday, Bryan’s Green Stadium
REGION IV
Geronimo Navarro (11-0) vs. Cuero (7-5), 7:30 p.m. Friday, San Antonio’s Gustafson Stadium
Sinton (11-0) vs. Wimberley (5-7), 2 p.m. Saturday, San Antonio’s Alamo Stadium
Wimberley was staring 0-6 in the face at one point this season, but their ability to capitalize on opponents’ mistakes has led them to a regional round birth. Now Wimberley’s next opportunity revolves around Sinton’s quarterback situation. Colton Cohea broke his collarbone during the second quarter of Sinton’s win over Llano last weekend. But sophomore Colt Gorman is not your regular inexperienced quarterback. Gorman appeared in nine of Sinton’s 11 games this season, completing 23 of his 45 passes for 299 yards and three touchdowns, while rushing for 397 yards and another three touchdowns. – John Diaz
