Two undefeated West Texas teams with long winning traditions. Friday night lights fans get their money’s worth at this game. – John Hillman

REGION III
Grandview (11-0) vs. Cameron Yoe (11-1), 1 p.m. Friday, Waco ISD Stadium
Grandview’s Zach Smith plans to enroll at Baylor in January, but the senior quarterback will keep the Zebras in strong competition for playoff victories. Cameron Yoe mounted a 25-point comeback last week against Malakoff continue its playoff winning streak and quest for four consecutive state titles. Both teams should score points, and which defense stifles either Grandview’s Smith or Yoe’s Traion Smith and Sicory Smith should emerge victorious. – John Hillman
Teague (10-1) vs. West (11-1), 7 p.m. Friday, Midlothian
The contest features contrasting quarterbacks. Teague’s Mikkail Shepherd runs with abandon, and West’s Mason Tobola throws darts. Last week, West surprised the pundits by downing a speedy Kirbyville team. It remains to be seen if the Trojans can achieve the feat in back-to-back weeks. – John Hillman

Newton (8-4) vs. Franklin (12-0), 7 p.m. Friday, Henderson
Tanner Holmes has played all over the field on defense since his sophomore year, and the Louisiana-Lafayette commit is the heart and soul of Newton’s stout defense. But Franklin’s prolific offense averages over 50 points a game. It’s going to take a lot more than Holmes to stop the Lions. – John Diaz

These two teams met last year with Blanco coming out ahead 14-7 in a defensive struggle. No reason to expect anything different this weekend as Blanco tries to create a new shutout streak. – John Diaz
