GHA Preview Week 3


It’s baaaaack!

As district play starts (yes. already.) in three districts with Houston area teams, my brief look at the district returns.

I’ll give you my rankings in each district, look at the schedule for the week, and focus on key games.

Each week I’ll add in districts as they start district play.

Starting with week 9 I’ll switch over from my rankings to playoff scenarios.

And without further delay, here’s the districts entering district play in week 3.


My rankings – 1) College Station 2) Magnolia 3) Magnolia West/ Lufkin/ New Caney 6) Porter 7) Waller 8) Caney Creek 9) Cleveland

This week’s games:

Magnolia at College Station

Magnolia at College Station – Right out of the gate we get a matchup of the two teams I have ranked at the top. Massey Ratings favors Magnolia by 1. Calpreps favors College Station by 14.

 Magnolia West at Lufkin – Two of three teams I have battling for the 3rd spot in the district face off. Massey Ratings favors Magnolia West by 1. Calpreps favors Magnolia West by 3.


My rankings – 1) Manvel/ Paetow 3) Hightower/ Foster 5) Angleton 6) Terry 7) Kempner 8) Milby 9) Wisdom

Paetow at Foster – Two teams I expect to be playoff teams face off. Massey Ratings favors Foster by 9. Calpreps favors Paetow by 18.

I don’t see any of the games this week to be particularly telling.


Week 4 16-6A (Bridgeland, Cy Park, Cy Ranch, Cy Woods, Cy Falls, Cy Springs, Langham Creek, Cy Lakes) and 20-6A (Fort Bend ISD and George Ranch) enter district play.
