Stephenville Converts Turnovers in to 4AD1 Title


The Stephenville Yellowjackets defeated the Austin LBJ Jaguars 38-21 Friday afternoon at AT&T Stadium to win the UIL 4AD1 Football Championship.

LBJ fumbled the ball and Stephenville recovered those fumbles on their first 4 drives of the game to spot Stephenville to a 17-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Stephenville led 24-7 at the half.

The teams would exchange scores throughout the second half but LBJ never got closer than 17 points.

Stephenville’s Coy Eakin was named the game’s Offensive MVP after making several insane catches and recording 9 receptions for 187 yards and 3 TDs. Eakin also rushed for 25 yards.

Stephenville’s Reese Young was named the game’s Defensive MVP recording 14 tackles.
