A Virginia Man Was Arrested After His DNA Was Connected To The 1980s Cold Case Murders Of Two Women

A Virginia man was taken into custody after DNA evidence linked him to two unsolved homicide cases.

What Happened?

1986 saw the first murder, according to the authorities. The last time Jacqueline Lard of Stafford County was seen was on November 15, 1986, just before her real estate agency closed for the day. The Stafford Police Department claims that the murder scene that Lard’s colleagues discovered the following morning at the office showed signs of a “horrific struggle.”

It was discovered by investigators that the 32-year-old woman and her car were both missing. The following day, under a pile of abandoned carpet, two young children playing in a wooded area discovered Lard’s body.

According to Fairfax County police, the second murder happened in March 1989 when Amy Baker, a resident of Stafford County, vanished while visiting relatives in Falls Church, Virginia. Baker, who is eighteen, never came home after the visit.

That same evening, her relatives filed a missing person’s report after discovering her automobile unattended. After searching the area, her relatives discovered Baker’s body next to an I-95 exit ramp in a rural area.

In February 2024, the Harrison probe got underway. A grand jury in Stafford County indicted Harrison on March 4 on a number of offenses, including first-degree murder, kidnapping with the purpose to defile, and severe intentional wounding of Lard.

Harrison is still being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail after his arrest on March 5. Based on jail records, his bond has been rejected.
