An 18-year-old lady was reportedly abducted by a Texas couple, who then shackled her to a bed and assaulted her for a month.

 Texas Is Not Safe Anymore

On the evening of Sunday, July 16, Houston, Texas-based Harris County authorities were informed of reports of a lady in trouble fleeing a home. According to Harris County Constable Mark Herman, the adolescent claimed a pair had kidnapped her. She had a chance to flee when they left the house where she was being held prisoner.

Herman told CBS station KWTX that the woman understood that both had departed and that it was her turn. Deputies who responded to the call did notice marks on her hands and legs that would suggest shackles.

There were 14,671 recorded rapes in the Lone Star State in 2021, according to the most recent crime data from the Texas Department of Public Safety. In comparison to the recorded 13,327 rapes in 2020, this marked an increase of 10.1%. According to the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network, eight out of every ten rapes in the United States are carried out by someone the victim knows.

Herman stated that the adolescent was afterwards transferred to a neighboring hospital for assessment and medical tests. They then started sexually abusing her after detaining her against her will for a while.

According to NBC station KPRC-TV, police detained Jose Reyes, 31, and Jacqueline Macias, 29, at a residence in the 6900 block of Foxmont Lane, Humble, the next day.

Each of them was accused with one count of aggravated abduction. Reyes and Macias will both appear in court later, according to information obtained by Newsweek from Harris County inmates.

If more charges should be filed against Reyes and Macias, officers are awaiting the findings of the medical exams.

Reyes allegedly persuaded the adolescent to move in after winning her confidence, but she soon learned he was seeing someone else. Reyes and Macias reportedly held the adolescent hostage and sexually assaulted her for a month after she tried to flee.

According to court records acquired by KPRC-TV, the adolescent was reportedly raped while being shackled to a bed. However, when the couple left the house for a short while on Sunday night, she was able to escape via a bedroom window. She continued to knock on houses in the area until she attracted someone’s notice and they dialed 911.

She used every effort and brought all of her power to bear to escape, Herman told the network.
