Assault at Worcester Business Journal
The assault at the Worcester Business Journal took place during a winners-only reception held in July as part of the preparations for the 24th annual “40 Under Forty Awards.”
This event, which aims to recognize and celebrate the achievements of young professionals in the Central Massachusetts area, is the flagship occasion of the Worcester Business Journal.
Brad Kane, who is deeply involved in the production of this event, recounted the sequence of events in a recent column. He initially mistook the arrival of an ambulance in the parking lot at the end of the reception as a response to someone suffering from weather-related discomfort.
“During that July reception, there was an assault, and the police are actively investigating the incident,” Kane wrote, carefully choosing his words to convey the gravity of the situation without disclosing specific details.
“We are deeply upset about the situation,” Kane expressed stating they are doing everything within their power to support the ongoing investigation and the person most affected by this incident.
