China Central Television announced in one of their broadcasts that China’s intelligence officials had uncovered yet another US spying case. A Chinese national working in a defense institute has been accused of spying for the US.

China Central Television Unveiled The US Spy On Live Broadcast

SOURCE- In a broadcast report by China Central Television (CCTV), a Chinese citizen who is working at an undisclosed defense institute was accused of spying for the US.

China Central Television announced in their report that the accused spy, with the surname Hou, was sent as a visiting scholar to a US university in 2013.

China Central Television added that when Hou was dispatched to that US university, he was coerced to reveal the secrets of the Chinese state. China Central Television did not give the name of the US university Hou was dispatched.

Hou Disclosed Highly Classified Secrets, Including Defense And Military Intelligence Information, Says China Central Television

Hindustan Times – China Central Television said that Hou got close to an American intelligence officer without his knowledge. The intelligence officer later revealed his true identity and intentions when Hou’s family visited him in the US.

Fearing for his family’s safety, he agreed to the terms and was paid $1,000 per session. Hou was asked to disclose highly classified secrets of the Chinese state; this includes intelligence information about China’s defense and military.

According to the broadcast of China Central Television, Hou’s case was transferred to Chengdu for trial.
