Dallas Police Detain Suspect In Fatal Stabbing In East Oak Cliff

The suspect in an east Oak Cliff stabbing that claimed one life on Friday afternoon has been taken into custody by Dallas police. Police were called to a stabbing complaint in the 4400 block of Cardinal Drive on September 8 about 2:35 p.m.

Officers discovered a man who had been stabbed when they arrived. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded, but he eventually passed away from his wounds.

Police discovered the suspect throughout their inquiry to be 36-year-old Victor Shavers, who they claimed was still present at the scene. Shavers apparently surrendered peacefully when police shouted for him to come out of the residence.

After being brought to the Lew Sterrett Justice Center, Shavers was charged with murder. The victim’s name was still a secret to the general public as of Friday night.
