Biden Wants to Help Students with Debt in Court, But Not Everyone Agrees

According to US Today News, due to the tens of thousands of dollars in student loan debt they had racked up, psychologist Elizabeth Hadzic from Maryland and accountant Kim Coles from Oregon were in the process of filing for bankruptcy. They kept making payments for years until they finally hit a point where they could no longer do so. Hadzic is making good progress through the bankruptcy process, and soon he will be completely discharged. On the other hand, even though Coles is old enough to retire, the government is not ready to forgive her loan. The fact that this happened shows how hard it still is to get rid of student loan debt through the bankruptcy court system.

People have said that the Biden administration’s efforts to make the process easier are not working, and the results still rest on the federal attorneys who are given to the case and the area. Some people are skeptical about the claims of success because, even though progress has been seen, it is understood as a slow but steady improvement rather than a complete rebuild. People like Coles, who are facing the chance of continuing to have money problems, are affected by the complexity of the situation that still exists.
