List Of Worst Neighborhoods In Philadelphia

  1. Tioga-NiceTown

If you search for Tioga-Nicetown, the result will yield gunshot, crime, and crime rate. This is when you know things are terrible. This is a rugged area of town, just south of Hunting Park and close to Upper North Philadelphia.

This place has been a rollercoaster. This location was crowded throughout World War II. Then, similar to other local areas, deindustrialization resulted in white flight, and soon unemployment and poverty came in as reported in Road Snack.

  1. Hunting Park

This area is rife with gang activity. The Black Mafia, Latin Kings, and numerous motorcycle gangs are among the larger, more organized gangs that operate in the area.

In addition, the neighborhood-based street gangs and the drug trade account for the majority of the region’s violence making it on the list of worst neighborhoods in Philadelphia.

  1. Fairhill

The violence, poverty, and drug use in Philadelphia’s Fairhill area are egregiously awful. Only 20% of the row houses in this area of town, west of Kensington and along Glenwood Avenue, are inhabited by their owners.

The typical annual salary for a family of four in this area is only approximately $15,000. 61% of persons are considered to be poor. That represents five times the US average.
