Two males are wanted by Irving police on suspicion of robbing an 87-year-old man of his electric scooter and two weapons.
On April 10, dementia sufferer Bob Woods was cleaning his guns while sitting on the porch of Amanda Rodrigues, his caregiver.
Within seconds of Rodriguez leaving her house to drive her daughter to soccer practice, Woods was contacted by two individuals in a maroon truck who made a $1,200 offer to acquire his scooter and two weapons. The men promised to return with the money, but they never did.
I trusted them, but they betrayed me when they seized my money and fled, according to Woods. During his interview with CBS News Texas, Woods struggled to recall that he had paid $4,500 for the scooter.
“I saw his scooter wasn’t there when I returned. ‘Where’s your scooter,’ I questioned Bob. And he said, “I sold it to two guys who came over here.” How much did you get for that, I asked you? Oh, they haven’t paid me yet, he added. ‘What?’ I yelled. I recognized that as a warning sign, Rodriguez added.
Irving Police Department
In the hopes that someone would recognize them, Rodriguez reported them to the Irving police and has been posting these pictures on social media.
If you identify the males, call the Irving police immediately. The Irving police department verified that they are investigating the crime.
“It’s wrong in every way. How are you going to take advantage of an old man while you just sit there? stated Rodriguez.
