Gas Prices Rise In Advance Of The Labor Day Holiday

For the Labor Day weekend, you can see a rise in gas costs if you’re planning a road trip. According to AAA Texas, the average gas price across the state of Texas on Thursday is $3.42 a gallon. That is six cents a gallon more than on this day last year and two cents less than on this day last week. At $3.42 per gallon, gas is also available in Dallas and Fort Worth-Arlington.

Holiday visitors will find pump prices that are quite comparable to where they were a year ago, according to Daniel Armbruster, AAA Texas spokesperson, despite the recent modest increase in gas prices. “Fuel demand is still high, which could lead to an increase in price over the holiday. AAA Texas claims that this summer’s tourism numbers have reached records – AAA Domestic travel reservations for the Labor Day holiday weekend are up 4% over the previous year. Gas prices are under pressure as a result of Hurricane Idalia. Due to the temporary closure of three refineries along the Gulf coast, prices may rise.
