  1. Danville

Danville is considered as one of the most dangerous cities in Illinois due to its high crime rate. In fact, the city’s crime rate is 213% higher than the state average as reported in Property club. Here, 1 in 17 people are at risk on becoming a victim of crime.

Aside from that, problems like poor education, lack of opportunities, and a low median income plagued the city for years.

Another most dangerous cities in Illinois is Peoria. With a population of 113,150, the crime rate is at 4,793 per 100,000 residents. Residents of Peoria are more likely to become victims of violent crimes, including homicides and gun violence.

Despite being the state capital of Illinois, Springfield is hardly a secure place and was actually considered as one of the most dangerous cities in Illinois. For every 100,000 residents, 5,218 crimes is most likely to be committed. In 2021, 4,300 violent and property crime were recorded which is 122% more dangerous that other US Cities.
