Arterio Morris Suspended for Rape Accusations
Kansas men’s basketball player Arterio Morris has been suspended from the team following a rape accusation. The Tribune reports that this suspension comes after an incident that was reported at an on-campus residence hall where the Kansas basketball players live. While the name ‘Arterio Morris’ was not in the incident report, two of his teammates, Johnny Furphy and Elmarko Jackson, were listed as witnesses, along with another player, Nick Timberlake.
As of now, there have been no warrants issued for the arrest of Arterio Morris, and no charges have been filed against him. The case remains open and under investigation by the Douglas County District Attorney’s office.
Arterio Morris and His Past Legal Issues
Arterio Morris transferred to Kansas from Texas and had previously faced legal issues related to an altercation with his ex-girlfriend. According to the report of NBC Sports, this resulted in a Class A misdemeanor assault charge and a fine.
Despite these past troubles, Morris played in all 38 games for Texas last season.
The situation has raised questions about the player’s future with the Kansas basketball program pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
