People are suing Cal Poly for not doing enough to protect Kristin Smart.

According to a UPI crime news report, Kristin Smart’s family has sued Cal Poly, saying the school did not do enough to keep their daughter safe. They say Kristin’s murder might not have happened if Cal Poly had looked into and arrested Kristin’s friend Paul Flores sooner.

The smart family wants Cal Poly to do what they say they will do.

Stan Smart and Denise Smart, Kristin’s parents, say that the mistakes Cal Poly made made their pain even worse. They want the school to own up to its mistakes and pay them for the emotional pain they’ve caused so that other families don’t have to go through the same thing.
