Rice Milk


  • 4 cups of mineral water.
  • 1 cup of white rice (brown rice is good too).
  • 1 tsp of salt.
  • 1 tbsp of honey, if desired.
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract or cinnamon powder, if desired.


  1. Soak the rice for one hour or two in cold water.
  2. Strain it and pour it along with the 4 cups of mineral water in a saucepan.
  3. Season with salt, honey, vanilla essence or crushed cinnamon.
  4. Turn up the heat, bring to a boil, and simmer until the rice is tender (about 15 to 20 minutes).
  5. Allow it to cool before pureeing in a blender or food processor.
  6. Strain through a fine sieve, pressing the rice paste against the mesh with a spoon to remove as much liquid as possible.
