NBC Chicago reports, Jennifer Crumbley mother of Michigan school shooter was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter after a major hearing. The jury’s decision was the first to say that parents were responsible for what their kids did. Her son Ethan Crumbley killed four students and hurt hundreds more in the 2021 Oxford High School attack. The prosecutors said Crumbley was careless. It’s important to note that Jennifer Crumbley didn’t talk about Ethan getting a gun in her house and using it to kill someone. The school also said they were worried about Ethan’s mental health.

Crumbleys Fail to Address Concerns Raised by School Officials

Prosecutors said that Ethan’s school assignment’s scary art and plea for help were red flags. Jennifer and James who bought the gun did nothing despite these warnings. The event made people more aware of the need for mental health and gun safety steps in the community which led to calls for more responsibility and monitoring.

March Trial: Michigan School Shooter Faces Charges of Involuntary Manslaughter

In March, James Crumbley will be charged with killing by accident. 17-year-old Ethan is willing to kill and cause trouble. Since the case people all over the country have talked about parental duty, mental health, and gun control. Jennifer Crumbley’s sentence shows that people are not able to stop this kind of violence.
