Megan Joyce Imirowicz, a 19-year-old woman from Michigan, faced the possibility of life imprisonment for the fatal act of pouring lye on her sleeping father. In court, she quoted a Bible verse, maintaining her innocence and expressing remorse. Despite this, she was sentenced to one year in prison with credit for time served, followed by five years of probation.
According to Law&Crime, prosecutors portrayed Megan Joyce Imirowicz as callous, alleging that she lied to investigators about how she learned of her father’s burns. They claimed that when a friend called her about it, she showed little concern and even hung up the phone. She also attempted to downplay her involvement, mentioning that she threw bread at her father, but investigators had not initially suggested this.

The incident occurred on October 1, 2021, when Megan Joyce Imirowicz threw lye on her father, Konrad Imirowicz, who was heavily intoxicated with alcohol. He sustained severe chemical burns and complications, leading to his death on March 6, 2022, after being taken off life support.
