Missouri Woman Kills Pregnant Stranger
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Missouri revealed that the accused Missouri woman, 43-year-old Amber Waterman, utilized a fake Facebook account to entice Ashley Bush, a seven-month-pregnant woman, with the false assurance of a job opportunity and free baby clothes, Fox News reported.
The accused Missouri woman assumed the online identity of Lucy Barrows on Facebook, where she offered “a bunch of baby items if any moms-to-be need them.” Ashley Bush, a resident of Maysville, Arkansas, responded to the post, and the two women arranged a meeting.
They met on October 31, 2022, when the Missouri woman informed Bush, 33, about a potential job opportunity and agreed to meet at a convenience store in Maysville known as Handi-Stop.
It was during this meeting that the Missouri woman allegedly abducted Bush, shot her, and gruesomely carved the unborn child from her abdomen, as detailed by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office. Tragically, the baby, named Valkyrie Grace Willis, did not survive.
The couple dragged the body to a fire pit located behind their home and set it ablaze for over an hour before discarding it in the nearby woods. Investigators found burned human remains, including a hand and bone fragments, within the burn pile. The whereabouts of the child’s remains were not disclosed.

Missouri Woman and Husband Arrested
Investigators subsequently linked the Facebook account to Missouri woman Amber, and the GPS data from Bush’s phone, discovered on the roadside, placed the device only 0.15 miles away from the Watermans’ residence on the day of her disappearance.
The accused Missouri woman Amber Waterman, now faces an additional charge for the death of the unborn child, according to federal officials. Upon allegedly committing the heinous act, the Missouri woman reportedly confessed to her husband, 43-year-old Jamie Waterman, who has also been charged with aiding in the cover-up of the crime.
During the investigation, detectives interviewed the Missouri woman, who initially claimed she had been at home with her son throughout the entire day. She later alleged that she went into labor on October 31 and gave birth to a stillborn child. However, her husband, Jamie Waterman, eventually confessed to authorities and led them to the location of the victim’s body
Both the Missouri woman and her husband Jamie Waterman are currently being held without bond pending their trial.
If convicted, the Missouri woman faces a potential life sentence, while her husband could be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison. Ashley Bush leaves behind her three children, aged 8, 7, and 2, as her heartbroken family struggles to cope with the devastating loss.
