Tuesday morning, the guy who is suspected of running over a person with a car in Dallas over the weekend was checked into the Dallas County Jail. Nestor Flores is under arrest by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and faces charges related to a collision that resulted in death.

What Happened?

Flores was taken into custody when authorities in White Settlement, approximately 40 miles distant from the scene of the alleged collision, discovered a man’s body inside a car that was parked at a Jack in the Box along Interstate 30.

After that, according to the arrest request, Flores entered the restaurant “asking for a phone charger and was covered in blood” before leaving again for his vehicle.

Authorities think Flores was under the influence of narcotics and alcohol when he struck the victim. Since then, Terry Ivory, 45, has been recognized as the pedestrian. Those who knew him described him as a good-hearted, well-educated, and kind man.

A Case Of Murder

Ivory’s friends, who claim he went by T, informed CBS News Texas that he was homeless and spent most of his days and nights around the intersection of I-30 and Cockrell Hill Road—possibly the same spot where he was struck and murdered.

Robert believed it was a terrible rumor that couldn’t possibly be true, but what transpired next is so unsettling. Yes, it terrifies him, he said. Court records state that Ivory was struck by a car so forcefully that pieces of his legs were subsequently discovered.

Chief Chris Cook of the White Settlement Police Department stated, “You’re so impaired that you strike a pedestrian on a service road and you don’t even realise it’s a human being.” “I can’t fathom the level of impairment, and for him to travel 38 miles, and the car basically gave out is how he ended up in our community.”

As they grieve the loss of one of their own, the neighbourhood where Ivory lived is also worried about their own safety on the streets. Robert remarked, “He was a good man.” “He was good-hearted.” Ivory does have family in the region, but CBS News Texas hasn’t had the opportunity to speak with any of them on the incident.
