New Jersey Sales Tax Holiday

In a recent post from the official site of the State of New Jersey, they had announced this year’s New Jersey sales tax holiday where citizens can take advantage of temporary tax exemption on selected items which includes computers, school supplies, and sport or recreational equipment.

Purchases during the New Jersey sales tax holiday are not intended for business use. The tax break will be on August 26 to September 4. No restrictions were given on how much consumers can buy as long as these items are enlisted in their website.

New Jersey Sales Tax Holiday, List Of Selected Items

In a report from APP.com, buyers may purchase computers, school supplies, and sport or recreational equipment. Here are some of more specific list of items which could be availed during New Jersey sales tax holiday.

  • Certain computers (Sales price less than $3,000)
  • Clay and Glazes
  • Paints (Including Acrylic, Tempera, and Oil)
  • Computer Storage Media, Diskettes, and Compact Disks
  • Personal Digital Assistants (except devices that are cellular phones)
  • Reference Books
  • Workbooks
  • Binders
  • Cellophane Tape
  • Folders (expandable, pocket, plastic, and manila)
  • Pencil Sharpeners
  • Helmets (bike, sport)
  • Ballet and Tap Shoes
