Electric car Bill: Could have saved around $277 million

Under the Electric car bill, the Department of Management services will be asked to make a recommendation to several public and private agencies like colleges, universities and local governments to buy vehicles which uses renewable fuels instead of the commercial gasolines and ethanol, mainly like electric vehicles.

Through the Electric car bill, critics say the state could have saved around $277 million. Critics also added that Gov. Ron DeSantis veto the Electric car bill because he favored his own political ambition to be the next President and win Iowa voters over the needs of the people in Florida.

More Electric vehicles under the Electric car bill would mean less consumption of Ethanol. The major producer of Ethanol in US is from the Iowa Farmers. Iowa, as critics say, will be the home for the presidential caucus next year.

Michael Weiss from the Advanced Energy United said, “This veto is a baffling decision that will cost Florida taxpayers millions of dollars,”.

Years before the Electric car bill veto by Gov. Ron DeSantis, it can be recalled that DeSantis had supported the construction of several Electric Vehicles charging stations in Florida.

Gov. Ron DeSantis still had not provided an explanation for vetoing the Electric car bill.
