Police In Willow Park Are Attempting To Identify The Couple Seen On Camera Breaking Into A Church

In Willow Park, thieves broke into a church, two school groups, and a Boy Scout unit while breaking at least three doors and two windows.

The two used a dolly they discovered inside the church to bring all the stolen goods back outside, and Willow Park police are still looking for them. Father Sam Wilgus stated, “For those pieces to be removed, it’s hard to even describe what that does to us. It’s a major event.

The ceremonial significance the objects held for the church and their sentimental value—many of the items were presents from church members—were more significant than their monetary value, Wilgus highlighted.

Other unrelated objects, such as printer paper, had been moved and stacked up as if the thieves were intending to take it, but they later changed their minds, said to Chelsey Davidson of CORA Electives, a homeschool organization that meets at the church twice a week.

Since the structure had evident damage, she claimed that having to explain what had happened to the students was the most difficult part. When a member proposed it, Wilgus said that the cameras had only been placed earlier this year.
