Following a gunshot in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant in Lewisville on Wednesday, a teen has passed away. On September 20, just after 4 p.m., police received a call reporting a shooting outside the Raising Cane’s off West Main Street.
Skylar Ashton Marquel Linson, a student at Lewisville High School, was named as the victim. He was rushed to Medical City Lewisville, but the shooting ultimately claimed his life.
According to the police, the suspect fled the area and gave officers a quick chase before stopping. After then, police arrested him.
Given that the suspect is a minor, police stated they won’t be revealing his identification. He is not a student at Lewisville High School, they did note.
Investigate Who Are Being Affected
Detectives are presently investigating the site, and no motive has yet been found. Following the incident, Lewisville ISD announced that a team of counsellors would be at the high school on Thursday to assist any students or staff members who had been affected.
The district added that there will be increased protection the rest of the week on the three high school sites. “This awful incident leaves us feeling incredibly sad. We are currently observing the student’s family’s privacy and will be available to provide any aid we can when they are ready.
