The American rapper and actor 50 Cent gained notoriety recently for his chat with Mayor Eric Adams of New York City. He first addressed his concerns with the city’s recently implemented migrant debit card program before going on to address Governor Kathy Hochul.As of August 24, 2021, Hochul is the 57th governor of the state of New York.

Criticizing Kathy Hochul

50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, has always been outspoken about his political beliefs. The rapper criticized New York City Mayor Eric Adams on Saturday, February 3, 2024, following the latter’s introduction of an immigration policy.

Under the Adams administration’s program, $53 million will be given as prepaid credit cards to families in the city who are seeking asylum.”It will start with a group of 500 migrant families in short-term hotel stays and will replace the current food service offered there, according to City Hall,” The New York Post said in reference to the program’s launch.

On Saturday, February 3, 50 Cent posted a screenshot of the Post’s headline to Instagram. According to Fox News, he expressed his disapproval of the new policy in the caption and requested a meeting with the mayor to talk about it.
