In a report from Fox News, Rex Heuermann was arrested last Thursday in connection with the series of unsolved murders that had terrorized Long Island for over a decade.

Four bodies were found near Gilgo Beach in 2010. The victims were later identified as Amber Lynn Costello, 27, Maureen Brainard-Barnes, 25, Megan Waterman, 22 and Melissa Barthelemy,24. The four girls were then called the ‘Gilgo Four’. A total of 11 bodies were found along the long Island beach highway until 2011.
Rex Heuermann, a 59-year-old accountant who lives in Massapequa Park was linked to the 2010 murders in Gilgo Beach.

Rex Heuermann Charged With Three Murders
According to CNN, Rex Heuermann was charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of second-degree murder in the three murders in the ‘Gilgo Four’. He was not charged with the fourth murder, but authorities say they are still working on the case.
Rex Heuermann pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Rex Heuermann had been on watch since 2022. Prior to the arrest, his DNA was taken through a pizza box that had been discarded in a trash bin.
