Secretary Arkoosh advised recipients to look out for unusual activity and call the DHS fraud tip line at 1-844-DHS-TIPS. Unsolicited emails, chats, and calls from DHS never request personal information.

State Inspector General Urges Vigilance Against SNAP Benefit Scam DHS Warning
State Inspector General Lucas M. Miller echoed Secretary Arkoosh’s concerns regarding data security and aid program credibility. Miller recommended reporting SNAP benefit scam to the Office of State Inspector General online or the Public Assistance theft Tipline at 1-800-932-0582. DHS underlined that they provide informational messages and calls but never seek personal information or steer consumers to fraud sites.
