South China Sea Conflict Continues

SOURCE– The United States has called out Beijing for interfering in the Philippines’ maritime operations and for undermining regional stability. The US State Department now urges Beijing to stop its “dangerous” and “destabilizing” conduct in the continuous South China Sea conflict.

The tension between the Philippines and China due to the continuous South China Sea conflict only escalates as time passes. Over the weekend, both Beijing and the Philippines traded accusations over a ramming incident in the territory involving both of their vessels, while Manila’s vessels were on a resupply mission to Second Thomas Shoal.

Matthew Miller, the spokesperson for the State Department, said that what Beijing is doing right now, obstructing supply lines and interfering with lawful Philippine maritime operations, undermines regional stability. This dangerous conduct by Beijing only worsens the ongoing South China Sea conflict.
