Through the disbursement of economic impact payments, many states and the federal government provided some type of stimulus to their citizens during the peak of the COVID-19 outbreak. The majority of stimulus funding has stopped being distributed three years after the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, & Economic Security Act (CARES) was enacted. However, several states are still providing help because of a consistently unstable economy and other sources of financial stress.
Alabama
Alabama will be offering a single-time tax refund in November, per AP News and other sources. Married couples will receive $300, and single taxpayers will receive $150. Approximately 1.9 million Alabama citizens are anticipated to benefit from this rebate, however, to qualify, one must have submitted their 2021 taxes by October 17, 2022. According to the article, the funding would come from a surplus of $2.8 billion in the state’s Education Trust Fund and will cost the government about $383 million.
Georgia

According to a recent report, Illinois citizens will get unclaimed property cheques for up to $5,000. The monies, which amount to around $47 million, may be available to more than 66,000 individuals. Unclaimed property is a term used to describe money or other items that might have been lost over time. Keep a lookout for a message from the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office with instructions on how to collect your money. New Mexico

Pennsylvania
As per the Pennsylvania Dept of Revenue website, the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program’s application deadline is December 31, 2023. You must be at least 65 years old, a widow/widower at least 50 years old, or a person with a disability at least 18 years old to be eligible. There are also income restrictions of $15,000 for renters and $35,000 for homeowners, although these restrictions do not apply to fifty percent of Social Security income. You may be eligible for this program, which is funded by the Pennsylvania Lottery, and get between $250 and $650 depending on your earnings and whether you own or rent.
