For single-person households, the monthly income threshold stands at $1,869 to become one of the Texas SNAP recipients. Conversely, larger households, such as those comprising five individuals, must not surpass a monthly income of $4,465 to remain eligible for assistance.
Texas SNAP recipients aged between 16 and 59 years in Texas are subject to work regulations as part of the SNAP program. Individuals within this age bracket must either maintain employment, actively seek job opportunities, or participate in an approved work program.
Leaving a job without a valid reason is not permitted within the program guidelines.
SNAP payment amounts in the state of Texas are intricately tied to the number of individuals residing in a given household. For instance, Texas SNAP recipients with single-member households receive $281 in benefits.
On the other end of the spectrum, households with eight members can receive up to $1,691 in assistance. Should a family exceed eight members, an additional $211 is allotted for each extra member.

Texas SNAP Recipients Distribution Timeline and Method
SNAP payments are issued during the first 10 business days of every month in Texas.
The exact date of receipt is contingent on an individual’s eligibility determination group number. In the event that Texas SNAP recipients have yet to receive their benefits, they can expect the funds to arrive within the subsequent 10 days.
These benefits are transferred electronically and are loaded onto the Lone Star Card, which serves as an electronic benefit transfer card. The card is automatically credited on the designated issuance date.
The funds cannot be utilized for acquiring alcohol, tobacco, or any other expenses unrelated to food.
